Vince is the founder of Alcatraz AI, an autonomous access control platform, replacing badging and biometric technologies in the enterprise. Previously he worked at NVIDIA on the embedded multimedia systems that power Tesla Model S, BMW, and Audi. Later on, he joined Apple to lead the hardware prototype engineering team for iPad and iPhone, where FaceID was in development. This is where he saw a clear need for a better, future-proof access control platform not only for mobile but also for the physical world, autonomously authenticating employees and checking for tailgating, significantly increasing security without the expense of friction.

Blaine Frederick brings 20+ years of experience in the Physical Security industry with specific expertise in the Biometric space. Frederick currently serves as the VP of Product at Alcatraz where he leads the Product and Engineering teams. Prior to his work at Alcatraz, he served as Co-Founder and Principal of BDIS which provides Consultation and Professional Services for the physical security market. Previously, Mr. Frederick held the role of VP of Product for EyeLock, where he captained the firm’s vision for iris authentication products and solutions in physical and logical security as well as numerous other commercial applications. Frederick also acted as the former Director of Product Management at STANLEY Security, a global division of Stanley Black & Decker where he led the creation of an industry-leading security management software suite, Commander.

Chris is an accomplished general manager with very strong technical and analytical background, having experience recruiting and leading large teams, synthesizing product and corporate strategy, articulating the value-add to lead customers, and negotiating with key partners and vendors. In particular Chris has extensive experience starting and leading venture-backed start-ups. In 2008 Chris cofounded nanotech startup NanOasis Technologies, and served as its President after having been an Entrepreneur in Residence at X/Seed Capital Management. Chris has otherwise played executive roles in Engineering, Operations, Product Management and Business Development.
