Alcatraz AI is looking for aTest Engineer - Embeddedsoftware who will be part of a highly
productive team which ensures the quality, reliability, and safety of firmware-integrated software
on a workstation and embedded device (product) level. It will be his/her responsibility to design
test methods and test plans for regression and stability, gathering and parsing of logs to
establish baselines and to analyze trends. The Test Engineer will provide reporting mechanisms
for analytics of test pass/fail detection and will be responsible for testing embedded systems
and integration between them.

Position Overview

Alcatraz is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer. This position will be responsible for ensuring that
product electronic designs meet/exceed customer expectations providing the business with a
competitive advantage. This role will also support product applications and field issues.

Primary Duties

Design and develop embedded hardware systems for electro-mechanical products
1. Performs full life cycle product development tasks
2. Designs schematics and layout multilayer PCBs
3. System level dubugging of existing and newly developed products
4. Works with other functional areas during the product development process
5. Lead or support subcontracted electrical design as needed
6. Expected to work under own initiative, prioritize own work, and meet agreed deadlines.
7. Supports manufacturing and sustaining post production launch as needed

4-year degree in Electrical Engineering
1. 5 - 10 years of work experience in a design or product development team
2. Experience working with Altium
3. Skilled in design engineering for embedded systems
4. Clear understanding of electronic principles and concepts
5. Knowledge of schematic layout and circuit analysis for electronic designs
6. Knowledge of EMI/EMC fundamentals including design for radiated emissions, radiated
immunity, ESD and electrical transients
7. Knowledge of high-speed electrical design fundamentals
8. Knowledge in electronic manufacturing techniques
9. Understanding of QFD, DFM, DFA, DFT, FMEA, RCA
10. Skilled in describing electrical operations to both engineers and laymen

Desired Qualifications

Experience launching at least two products successfully into mass production
1. Specific experience in a product design role for electro-mechanical products
2. Experience in writing firmware a plus
3. Designing products around extreme environmental conditions

4. Specific experience with FCC and UL testing a plus
5. Willingness to learn and embrace emerging technology
